Crusaders Topple Hood in Commonwealth Action

FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College dropped a Commonwealth Conference match to Alvernia on Senior Day, 16-1.

Before the game, the Blazers honored senior Megan Feldtmose (Hereford, Pa. / Perkiomen) for her contributions to the program during her career.

The Crusaders jumped ahead 9-0 before Ashley Kitzmiller (Westminster, Md. / Manchester Valley) scored off an assist from Danielle Roberts (Baltimore, Md. / Patapsco) with 10:09 left in the first half. Jacquelyn Strange added her third goal of the half to make it 10-1 at the half. 

Alvernia scored six unanswered goals in the second half.

Anne Lessard (Natick, Mass. / Natick) had a game-high six ground balls. Lauren Couch (Crownsville, Md. / Old Mill) stopped 12 shots.

Strange led all players with three goals. Angel Adams had two goals and two assists for four points. Bailey Stover caused six turnovers. Colleen Reilly made four saves.

Hood hosts Messiah on April 15 at 4 p.m.
