No. 17 Stevenson Bests Hood Women's Lax, 18-2

FREDERICK, Md.--KayLynn McCarthy and Brigid Ayer of the Hood College women's lacrosse team (3-11, 0-7 CC) scored second-half goals in an 18-2 Commonwealth Conference loss to the No. 17 Stevenson University Mustangs (14-1, 7-0 CC) Tuesday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.

McCarthy registered her third goal of the spring on a free-position shot midway through the second half and Ayer collected her 19th score of the year off a feed from Megan Feldtmose in the closing seconds of regulation.

Lauren Couch turned aside 16 shots between the pipes while Feldtmose and Ashley Kitzmiller controlled two draws apiece.

Stevenson, which led 11-0 at halftime, outshot Hood 37-8 as 11 different players scored at least one goal.

The Blazer finish the 2013 season at Commonwealth foe Widener University Saturday at 1 p.m.
