Hood Routs Waynesburg, 21-1

FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College women's lacrosse team (6-5) scored at least 20 goals for the fifth time this season in a 21-1 nonconference victory over the Waynesburg College Yellow Jackets (2-2) Thursday afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.

Brandy Noel, Jen Graham and Lauren Perzan keyed the Blazer attack with six points apiece. Graham scored five goals and assisted on another while Perzan and Noel both tallied three goals and three assists. Kelsey Blackwell notched three goals and a pair of assists while Britney Colandreo and Sarah Balukoff netted two goals apiece. Katie Vu, Helene Butler and Maria Moss registered single tallies. Vu also dished three helpers and Butler assisted on two others.

Hood outshot the Yellow Jackets, 41-10, and mounted a 12-1 lead by halftime. Sam Liptrap turned away seven Waynesburg shots while Amanda Jo Morgan tallied 13 saves in the losing effort.

Hood next travels to Arlington, Va., Saturday for a Capital Athletic Conference tilt with Marymount University at 11 a.m. The game will be played at Washington & Lee High School.
