Lauren Lieb Snags Second Team All-CAC Honors

FREDERICK, Md.--Senior Lauren Lieb of the Hood College women's lacrosse team has been selected as the Capital Athletic Conference's second team goalkeeper by the league's head coaches, as announced by the conference office Thursday.

Lieb is the first Blazer to earn CAC all-conference in Hood women's lacrosse history. The native of Silver Spring, Md., ended her stellar career as the Blazers' all-time leader in saves with 431, smashing the previous record of 335 held by Stephanie Andrews, who lettered for Hood in 1998 and 1999. Lieb ranked fourth in the CAC in saves per game in Hood's first season in the league, averaging 8.56 stops per outing.

She started all 53 of Hood's games over the last four years between the pipes and posted three shutouts along the way. Lieb was also recognized at the Senior Student-Athlete Awards Banquet with the Dean's Award, given to an outstanding student-athlete who embodies all of the desirable characteristics of a good teammate and friend.

York College's Anne Feustle garnerd first-team honors in goal. The complete all-CAC women's lacrosse first and second teams can be found here.
