Women's Lax Knocks Off Lancaster Bible, 9-3

LANCASTER, Pa.--Five different players scored for the Hood College women's lacrosse team (2-11) in a 9-3 nonconference victory over Lancaster Bible College (2-8) Wednesday.
Kelsey Blackwell, Jen Graham, Britney Colandreo and Lauren Perzan all tallied a pair of goals while Sarah Balukoff also scored her team-leading 20th goal of the spring to lift Hood to its second triumph in three games.
Hood held a 6-1 advantage at halftime and cashed in on three scoring chances in the second stanza to secure the victory. Lauren Lieb turned away 11 shots on the afternoon while the Blazer defenders limited the Chargers to just two shots in the final 30 minutes. Hood also won 11 draw controls on the day.
Hood returns home Saturday for its final home contest of 2008 against Ferrum College at noon. The Blazers will also recognize seniors Lauren Lieb and Arielle John for their contributions to the women's lacrosse program before the contest.
