Lundskow, Olson Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

FREDERICK, Md.--Two members of the Hood College women's lacrosse team were among the 187 Division III student-athletes who were recognized by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) for their outstanding accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom. Rising senior Christa Lundskow and 2007 graduate Melissa Olson were named to the 2007 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.

Both Lundskow and Olson were fixtures in the Blazer starting lineup last season. Lundskow, an attack/midfielder from Hughesville, Md., scored eight goals and contributed one assist for nine points in Hood's 13 contests. She is a mathematics major who has maintained a 3.34 grade-point average.

Olson, who served as team co-captain last year, ranks second all-time in the Hood women's lacrosse annals in games played with 48. The native of California, Md., listed second on the squad in ground balls with 41 and scored her lone goal of the season in a 17-3 victory over Lancaster Bible in mid-April. Olson is also a mathematics major who boasted a 3.43 GPA.

The Blazers finished the 2007 season with a record of 4-9 and advanced to the title game of the Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference tournament. Hood will begin its first season as a member of the Capital Athletic Conference in the spring of 2008.
