Women's Lacrosse Bows to Chestnut Hill

FREDERICK, Md.--Freshman Brandy Noel scored four goals and six other Blazers found the back of the net but the visiting Chestnut Hill College Griffins came away with a 20-11 victory over the Hood College women's lacrosse team Saturday afternoon in a non-conference game at Thomas Athletic Field.

The Blazers fall to 0-2 on the season while the Griffins even their record at 1-1.

Hood fell behind 9-3 at the half but rallied for eight goals in the second stanza.

Laurie Burrier scored twice for the Blazers while Liz Rakowski, Jayme Frost, Christa Lundskow, Rachel Loss and Lauren Perzan all registered one goal apiece in the losing cause.

Lauren Lieb turned away 12 shots in goal.

Katie Donovan and Stephanie Carlyle combined for 11 of Chestnut Hill's 20 goals on the day.

The Blazers return to action Sunday, March 18, hosting Rosemont College at noon at Thomas Athletic Field.
