Women's Lacrosse Drops Season Opener at Villa Julie College
OWINGS MILLS, Md.--Senior midfielder Laurie Burrier scored the lone goal for the Hood College women's lacrosse team in a 25-1 loss to the Villa Julie College Mustangs Sunday afternoon in a non-conference game.
Hood, playing in its season opener, falls to 0-1 while the Mustangs picked up their first win of the spring and are now 1-3.
Burrier's unassisted tally came with 16:02 to play in the first half and snapped a seven-goal run by Villa Julie.
Eight different players scored for the Mustangs, led by Meghan Smith's six goals.
Blazer goalkeeper Lauren Lieb faced 42 shots and stopped nine in the losing cause.
Hood returns to action Saturday hosting Chestnut Hill College at 2 p.m. at Thomas Athletic Field.
