Women's Golf Makes Debut at Gettysburg Invitational
GETTYSBURG, Pa.--Women's golf made its official debut as a varsity sport at Hood College Tuesday when a pair of players participated in the Gettysburg Spring Invitational.
Freshman Stephanie Hearn shot a 106 to tie for 27th, while freshman Sarah Hashemzadeh posted a 193 to finish 50th. Hood did not place in the team standings since it competed with just two golfers.
Division I Lehigh University won the event with a 340, while nearby Mount St. Mary's University was second with a 357. Division II Kutztown (362), McDaniel (385) and Gettysburg (386) rounded out the top five.
Hood women's golf made its unofficial debut at the Susquehanna University Invitational April 13, but the event was rained out shortly after play began.
