Chelsea Danel joined the women's basketball staff as an assistant coach at Hood College in 2016-17.
Additionally, she is an academic success coach in Hood's Center for Academic Achievement and Retention. Danel was the head women's golf coach from November 2016-January 2019 and remains with that program as an assistant coach.

No stranger to the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth, she played collegiately at Messiah. Danel was a three-year starter for the Falcons, who advanced to the NCAA Tournament all four years of her career, including a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2012-13. She was the team captain and All-Commonwealth Conference Second Team pick as a senior. That same season, she was the MVP of the 2013-14 Commonwealth Tournament after leading the Falcons to the conference championship.
Danel has coached at basketball team and skills camps at Messiah, the Keystone State Camp, Handle the Rock, Strictly Skills, Lance Loya's Be a Good Teammate Camp and the WVU volleyball camp.
She graduated from Messiah in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education. Her master's at West Virginia was in athletic coaching education.
