Willison Nets Game-High 24 in Loss to Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md.--Sophomore Jen Willison of the Hood College women's basketball team (3-13, 1-7 CAC) recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 24 points and 12 rebounds in an 81-67 loss to Salisbury University (7-10, 4-4 CAC) Wednesday evening.

Hood trailed by 12 at halftime but cut it to a one-possession game (47-44) midway through the second half on a pair of free throws by Whitney Schultheis. But that was the closest the Blazers would get as the Sea Gulls pushed the lead back to double figures over the next 3:25 and Salisbury went on to win by 14.

Willison connected on 9-of-15 from the field for a game-high 24 points and hauled in 12 rebounds, including eight on the offensive glass. Schultheis also reached double digits with 14 points, including a perfect 8-of-8 from the foul line. Sara Wastler finished with eight points and five steals in the losing cause.

The Sea Gulls shot 51.6 percent from the field and placed four players in double figures.

The Blazers look to get back on the winning track Saturday against York College (Pa.) at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School. Tip is slated for 2 p.m.
