Shook, Willison Named to All-AWCC Second Team

FREDERICK, Md.--Senior guard Dana Shook and freshman forward Jennifer Willison of the Hood College women's basketball team were named to the Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference all-league second team, as announced by conference officials Tuesday.
Shook, from Adamstown, Md., was a four-year letterwinner for the Blazers who earns her second all-conference certificate in as many years. One of two players to start all 23 games this season, she averaged 8.7 points per game, ranking her third on the squad. Shook also led the AWCC in assists per game, dishing out 3.61 per contest. A solid threat from long range, Shook listed seventh in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.294). She also grabbed 88 rebounds and picked off 35 steals while logging 32.8 minutes per outing.
Willison was one of only two freshmen to earn all-conference accolades. The native of Hancock, Md., was the top-scoring freshman in the conference, averaging 14.2 points per game. She was also Hood's top rebounder, hauling in 8.5 boards per night. Her .422 field goal percentage ranked her fourth in the AWCC, and she also ranked ninth in free throw percentage (.662). Willison reached double figures in scoring in all but seven games and registered a career-high 25 points against Wilson on Feb. 11.
Hood finished the 2006-07 campaign with a record of 5-18 and placed fifth in the AWCC standings. Next season, the Blazers will join the Capital Athletic Conference.
