Willison Recognized by AWCC

FREDERICK, Md.--Freshman forward Jennifer Willison of the Hood College women's basketball team was selected as the Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 18.
This is the first time this season that a Hood women's basketball player has been recognized by the conference.
Willison, a native of Hancock, Md., was instrumental in Hood's 47-42 victory over Chatham College Saturday. She recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the triumph. Willison is currently second in the conference in double-doubles.
The 6-0 forward was also the only Blazer to reach double figures in a 77-30 loss to York College Thursday. In that contest she tallied 10 points and grabbed nine boards.
Willison leads all first-year players in the AWCC with a 14.2 scoring average, which lists third overall in the league. She is also fourth on the conference's rebounding chart, averaging 8.5 caroms per game.
A starter in 20 of Hood's 23 games, Willison led the Blazers in scoring 17 times and ranked second on the team with 34 steals.
Hood finished its 2006-07 campaign with a record of 5-18 overall, 4-6 AWCC.
