FREDERICK, Md.--Two-time Olympic medalist and motivational speaker Hollis Conway is coming to Hood College Tuesday, Dec. 1, to hold a free clinic and speak to the Hood community about overcoming obstacles and achieving one's maximum potential.

The clinic will be held at Hood followed by an inspirational presentation in Whitaker Commons beginning at 7 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.

Conway earned a silver medal in the high jump at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea, and a bronze medal at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain. He set the American indoor record at 7' 10 1/2" in 1991, which still stands today and represents the fourth-best high jump mark ever. Conway was ranked No. 1 in the nation seven years in a row and was among the top four high jumpers in the world six straight years, including a No. 1 ranking twice.

To reserve a spot at the clinic, please R.S.V.P. by Nov. 28 to Brent Ayer, head track and field coach, at ayer@hood.edu or (301) 788-3757.
