Two-Time Olympic Medalist Hollis Conway to Speak to Hood Community

FREDERICK, Md.--Two-time Olympic medalist and motivational speaker Hollis Conway is coming to Hood College Tuesday, Dec. 1, to hold a free clinic and speak to the Hood community about overcoming obstacles and achieving one's maximum potential.
The clinic will be held at Hood followed by an inspirational presentation in Whitaker Commons beginning at 7 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.
Conway earned a silver medal in the high jump at the 1988
Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea, and a bronze medal at the 1992
Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain. He set the American indoor
record at 7' 10 1/2" in 1991, which still stands today and
represents the fourth-best high jump mark ever. Conway was ranked
No. 1 in the nation seven years in a row and was among the top four
high jumpers in the world six straight years, including a No. 1
ranking twice.
