DiGangi Earns All-CAC First Team Plaudits

FREDERICK, Md.--Freshman Chris DiGangi of the Hood College men's track and field team became Hood's first individual conference champion at the Capital Athletic Conference championships, held April 18 at the University of Mary Washington.

DiGangi, from Brick, N.J., cleared 14' 1 3/4" to earn top honors at the conference meet, earning him first team all-conference honors. DiGangi vaulted more than a foot higher than his next closest competitor, Steven Kinnear from York College (Pa.), who cleared 12' 11 1/2". Hood finished fifth in the team standings.

Three Hood women also took home all-conference awards. Senior Jessica Parrish won four gold medals to claim CAC athlete of the year honors, while juniors Erica Hamor and Jessica Stanley posted runner-up finishes in the javelin and the 400 meters, respectively, to claim second team all-league accolades.
