Blazers Featured in CAC Top Times List

FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College men and women’s track and field teams have had 18 top-six performances in the Capital Athletic Conference this season, two of which have been league-best times.
The Blazers have two weeks to prepare for the CAC Championships
at York College (Pa.), where the top six performances will earn
points towards the team scores.
For the men, freshman Ola Komolafe recorded the sixth-best time in
the 200 meters (23.27) at Salisbury on Feb. 16, and the fifth-best
in the 400 meters (52.02) at York (Pa.) on March 19.
Sophomore Williams Andrews ran a sixth-best 10,000 meters
(37:28.30) and the fifth-fastest 3000 steeplechase on March 29 at
the Univ. of Mary Washington.
Two Blazers relay teams have also made their way into the top-six,
with the 4x100 meter squad finishing with a fifth-best 46.30 at
York, and the 4x400 meter team running a fourth-best 3:35.05 at
Mary Washington.
In the men’s field events, freshman Justin Everett owns a
sixth-best 40’ 1.25’’ in the triple jump from his
performance at York. For the hammer throw, junior Matt Haynes and
senior Robert Lindsay rank third and fifth, respectively. Haynes
threw 118’ 0’’ at York and Lindsay tossed the
hammer 109’ 10’’ at Mary Washington.
