Men's Tennis Earns First CAC Win
FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College men's tennis team ran its win streak to three in a row with a 6-3 victory over Capital Athletic Conference rival Gallaudet University Monday afternoon at the Hood College Tennis Courts.
The Blazers (5-7, 1-2 CAC) also picked up their first-ever CAC triumph as the Bison remain winless on the season (0-5, 0-4 CAC).
The Blazers captured two of three doubles matches as Moga Nkate and Nick Gunther toppled David Reinhart and Sam Harris 8-5 at No. 2 doubles and Hood took third doubles by default.
Hood captured three of the five contested singles matches as Nkate upended Chas Wirick (7-6, 5-4), Carlos Funes ousted Reinhart (6-3, 6-2) and Kenny Smith got by Matt Schindel (6-0, 7-5).
The Blazers will take on another CAC foe, Salisbury University, Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Hood College Tennis Courts.
