LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa.--The Hood College men's tennis team opened its season with a convincing 8-1 victory over host Lincoln University Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Tyler Dixon picked up an 8-4 win at No. 2 singles and teamed with junior Moga Nkate for an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles.

Senior Greg Schinner was an 8-4 winner at No. 3 singles, while sophomore Nick Gunther posted an 8-3 victory at No. 4 singles. Schinner and Gunther also partnered for an easy 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles.

Freshman Robert Khitrik turned in an 8-0 shutout at No. 5 singles and also teamed with fellow freshman Kristopher Reese for an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.

Nkate dropped a hard-fought 8-6 decision at No. 1 singles.

The Blazers return to action next week when they travel to Hilton Head, S.C., for four matches.
