Men's Swimmers Drop 116-67 Decision at Penn State-Altoona


ALTOONA, Pa.--Senior Jason Kinder won three individual events for the Hood College men's swim team (1-6) in a 116-67 defeat at the hands of the Penn State University-Altoona Lions Sunday.

Kinder took first in the 1000 free (10:36.97), the 100 back (59.66) and the 500 free (5:23.55).

Junior Matt Haynes won the 200 free (1:53.57) and came in second in the 200 individual medley (2:14.27) and the 100 free (51.17) by just 0.02 of a second.

Freshman Robert Ennis claimed second place in the 50 free (24.41), the 100 fly (1:04.96) and the 100 breast (1:07.26).

Junior A.J. Smith finished fourth in the 50 free (30.90) and the 100 breast (1:28.13) and was fifth in the 100 free (1:11.21).

Freshman Kyle Atras took fourth in the 100 fly (1:32.49) and the 500 free (7:47.19) and the 1000 free (15:28.07).

The Blazers have one final tuneup before the Capital Athletic Conference championships (Feb. 15-17 at St. Mary's College of Maryland) when they square off against the University of Mary Washington Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hood Aquatics Center.
