Swimmers Swept by Salisbury

FREDERICK, Md.--Jason Kinder and Amy Kaufman both won two individual events but both the Hood College men's and women's swim teams lost to Salisbury University Saturday afternoon in a Capital Athletic Conference meet at the Hood Aquatics Center. The men's team (2-5, 1-5 CAC) fell 133-64 while the women (4-8) suffered a 144-60 defeat to the Sea Gulls.

On the women's side, Kaufman took top honors in the 1000 free (11:35.95) and the 500 free (5:37.56) while Katie Hitchens touched out Salisburyýs Laura Kordzikowski in the 50 free in a time of 26.46.

In the men's meet, Kinder captured first place in the 1000 free (10:46.22) and the 100 back (58.81). Other winners for the Blazers included Matt Haynes in the 50 free (22.96) and Matt Caron in the 200 individual medley (2:17.95).

The Blazers return to action Saturday, Jan. 20, at Gallaudet University in a double-dual with Catholic University. The meet gets underway at 2 p.m.
