Chris Kaplan is entering his sixth year and fourth consecutive year as the assistant men’s and women’s swim coach and assistant director of aquatics at Hood College.
Kaplan coached most recently for North Baltimore Aquatic Club (NBAC), which is one of the country’s best age group programs. While at NBAC, Kaplan coached numerous USA Swimming Top 16 and Top 10 swimmers as well as coaching swimmers at the Junior National and National Championship Meet level.
Kaplan’s college coaching experience includes a two-year stint at his alma mater Fairmont State University where he was an assistant coach and worked with two NCAA Division II All-Americans. Kaplan has also coached for the Monocacy Aquatic Club, a local age-group program in Frederick, the Beckley-Raleigh County YMCA in Beckley, W.Va., and Fairmont Area Swim Team in Fairmont, W. Va.
Kaplan is also heavily involved in the Maryland Swimming LSC and has served on the Board of Directors for the past several years.
Kaplan and his wife, Kirsten, reside in Glen Rock, Pa.
