Hood Men Drop 5-0 CAC Decision to Wesley on Senior Day

FREDERICK, Md.--The Wesley College Wolverines (6-5, 3-2 CAC) spoiled the Blazers' senior day by defeating the Hood College men's soccer team (2-8, 0-3 CAC) by a 5-0 count Saturday afternoon in a Capital Athletic Conference match at Thomas Athletic Field.

The Wolverines scored a pair of goals in the first half and three more in the second to clinch the win. Omega Dabale got the visitors on the board in the sixth minute off a feed from Frank Buffa. Then less than 10 minutes later, Thomas Yolain found Kyle Long whose attempt hit off the post and into the net for his fifth tally of the season.

Buffa then picked up two more assists on scores by Dom Citino and Joshua Chellah, who both found the back of the net in the second half. Oscar Juvera rounded out the scoring with his second goal of the season in the final minute.

Hood freshman William Lane earned his second start in the net and made five saves on the day. Wesley's Nick Talarico and Tom Mikulski combined for the shutout. Talarico made a diving save on Hood's lone shot on goal off the foot of Jacob Ausherman.

Hood honored seniors Corey DeMaster, Shawn Fernholz, Max Gebhart, Adam Gilbert, Quinn Miller, Carlin Rabie and Chris Zimmerman before the contest.

The Blazers close out their home slate Tuesday against CAC rival St. Mary's College (Md.) (3-8, 1-4 CAC) at 4 p.m.
