Men's Soccer Rolls to Third Straight Win

LANCASTER, Pa.--Senior Marcelino Rabara scored a pair of goals just over four minutes apart to lead the Hood College men's soccer team (3-2) to a 5-0 shutout win over Lancaster Bible College Saturday in nonconference action.
At the 24:53 mark of the first half, junior Tom Sprague crossed the ball to Rabara's left and he beat keeper Chris Douts to give Hood a 1-0 edge. Just 4:09 later, Rabara's shot ricocheted off the crossbar and into the net for his second goal of the afternoon. The senior from Rockville, Md., who has five goals in Hood's three victories, now has 22 career tallies in the blue and gray.
In the second half, Olorunfemi scored his second career goal and first of the season at the 74:12 mark of the second half of an assist from senior Tom Noonan. Then 3:51 later, sophomore Quinn Miller found Rabie who also notched his second career goal. Noonan rounded out the scoring in the 88th minute when he headed in a cross from freshman Jonathon Dawson.
Shawn Fernholz made a pair of saves for the Blazers, as Hood outshot LBC 20-5.
Hood, winners of three straight, travels to York, Pa., Monday to take on the top-ranked team in NCAA Division III, the York College Spartans, in its Capital Athletic Conference season opener at 4 p.m.
