Eric Dummann, who served as head coach of the Blazer men's
lacrosse program during the 2007-08 season, will remain on the
staff as an assistant coach this season after accepting a full-time
position as Dean of Students at St. John's Catholic Prep.
An assistant for the Blazers from January 2006 to November 2007,
Dummann started his lacrosse coaching career with the Olney (Md.)
Boys & Girls Club youth leagues before becoming an assistant
boys coach at Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, Va. He then
moved on to DeMatha Catholic High School, where he served as an
assistant dean and assistant ice hockey coach.
A staff coach at the Elite 150 Lacrosse Camp at Mount Saint Mary's
University, Dummann also runs a competitive men's league team in
the American Lacrosse League in Bethesda, Md.
He was an all-league selection and team captain as a senior at
Sherwood High School in Maryland and played four years at Men's
Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) power West Virginia
University where he led the squad to four consecutive top 20
rankings.
Prior to accepting his position at St. John's, Dummann worked in
behavior support with students with learning and academic
disabilities at Watkins Mill High School in Gaithersburg. He earned
his bachelor's degree in liberal arts from WVU in 2002 and
completed his master's degree in exercise science with a
concentration in athletic administration at McDaniel College in May
2008.
