Eric Dummann, an assistant men’s lacrosse coach at Hood College for nearly two years, was promoted Nov. 5, 2007 and took the reigns as head coach of the program in the spring of 2008.

An assistant for the Blazers since January 2006, Dummann started his lacrosse coaching career with the Olney (Md.) Boys & Girls Club youth leagues before becoming an assistant boys coach at Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, Va. He then moved on to DeMatha Catholic High School, where he served as an assistant dean and assistant ice hockey coach.

A staff coach at the Elite 150 Lacrosse Camp at Mount Saint Mary's University, Dummann also runs a competitive men's league team in the American Lacrosse League in Bethesda, Md.
He was an all-league selection and team captain as a senior at Sherwood High School in Maryland and played four years at Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) power West Virginia University where he led the squad to four consecutive top 20 rankings.

Dummann currently works in behavior support with students with learning and academic disabilities at Watkins Mill High School in Gaithersburg, and earned his bachelor's degree in liberal arts from WVU in 2002. He also completed his master's degree in exercise science with a concentration in athletic administration at McDaniel College in May 2008.

Dummann is the fourth head coach in the history of the men’s lacrosse program, which became a varsity sport at Hood in the spring of 2005. He inherited the position from Eric Shultz, who resigned in November 2007.

 



Curt Foxx

Assistant Coach







Hood College men's lacrosse head coach Eric Dummann has announced the addition of assistant coach Curt Foxx to his staff for the 2008 spring season.

A former high school mentor in Illinois and North Carolina, Foxx joins the Hood lacrosse family as the Blazers prepare for their fourth season of intercollegiate competition.

Foxx earned three varsity letters in lacrosse at Loyola Academy High School in Wilmette, Ill., and garnered the Coaches' Award as a senior. He then went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio in 2002 and was a member of both the lacrosse and football squads.

During his time at Kenyon, Foxx assisted with Loyola Academy's junior varsity and varsity lacrosse teams and guided the Ramblers to two state titles.

Foxx then obtained his master's degree in education from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He served as varsity assistant coach at Brentwood Lacrosse Club, guiding the Bruins to a pair of 10-plus win seasons.

Most recently, Foxx taught history in Raleigh, N.C., and coached junior varsity and varsity football and lacrosse at Wakefield High School. He took over head coaching duties in 2006 and led the Wolverines to the school's first-ever Capital East Championship and a sparkling 9-1 conference record.

Foxx has also participated in various youth summer camps and clinics.

"We are excited to have Coach Foxx join the staff here at Hood," said Dummann. "We are fortunate to have a coach that brings intensity everyday and who has great academic and athletic credentials."

Foxx and his wife, Ilyssa, live in Frederick.



Kevin Parker

Assistant Coach







Originally from Potomac, Md., Kevin Parker was a former lacrosse standout at Good Counsel High School and Mount Saint Mary’s University. He spent six years as an assistant at Good Counsel before moving to Hamburg, Germany, to coach the HTHC Hamburg Warriors for three years. Parker guided the Hamburg squad to the title game of the German championships against Berlin.

Parker will also serve as the Danish National team coach for the upcoming 2008 European championships in Finland.



Alan Rudnick

Assistant Coach







A former alumni and assistant men’s lacrosse coach at Eastern University in St. Davis, Pennsylvania, Alan Rudnick joins the Hood lacrosse family as the Blazers prepare for their fourth season of intercollegiate competition.

Rudnick was a two-time team MVP and two-time all conference selection as a goalie at Eastern University. While at Eastern University, Rudnick ranked as high as fifth in the nation in save percentage (.660).

Rudnick obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern University in 2003 and also received his Master of Divinity Degree from Palmer Theological Seminary in 2006. After college Rudnick played in both the American Lacrosse League and the Tri-State indoor league. Most recently, Rudnick was an assistant lacrosse coach at Eastern University.

Currently Rudnick, who is an ordained minister, serves as an associate pastor at Damascus United Methodist Church in Damascus, Md.
