Gallion Scores First Career Goal in Loss to Salisbury

EMMITSBURG, Md.--Freshman Mike Gallion scored the first goal of his Blazer career Wednesday against the top-ranked team in NCAA Division III, the Salisbury University Sea Gulls (5-0, 2-0 CAC), in a 28-1 loss for the Hood College men's lacrosse team (1-3, 0-1 CAC).
Gallion pocketed his first career score in the blue and gray off a feed from Kris Miner 3:18 into the fourth quarter for Hood's lone marker of the day. Hood tallied just eight shots on goal against four different Sea Gull keepers.
George Mineff caused five Salisbury turnovers and collected three groundballs while Hector Montoya won six face-offs and tallied five groundballs. Troy Hubbard scooped a team-high six groundballs while netminder Nick O'Brien turned away a career-high 20 shots and faced a total of 68 attempts in the contest.
Kylor Berkman paced the visitors with four goals and two assists and was one of 16 Sea Gulls to find the back of the net. Salisbury scored the first 23 goals of the contest and led 19-0 at halftime.
The Blazers step out of conference to travel to Washington & Jefferson College Saturday for a 5 p.m. tilt.
