FREDERICK, Md.--Hood College head men's lacrosse coach Curt Foxx and assistant coach Kevin Parker spent part of their summers coaching the Danish national team at the European Championship in Finland.

Parker served as the Danish team's head coach, guiding the squad to a 10th place finish out of 18 teams in the championship, posted victories over Latvia (12-5), France (19-1) and Austria (11-5). Denmark was introduced to the sport of lacrosse in 2002 and competed in its first European Championship in 2007.

Among the notable players on the Danish squad were attackman Alex Gorman, a former standout at Guilford College, Binz Hansen, a 2006 graduate of Goucher College and goalkeeper Kristian Schweitzer who lettered in lacrosse at Franklin & Marshall College.

Parker and Foxx found this experience very rewarding and were thankful that they had the opportunity to grow the sport of lacrosse in another continent. The tandem anticipates traveling with the Danish national team to Manchester, England for the 2010 World Championships.
