SCRANTON, Pa.--The Hood College men's lacrosse team (0-5) got off to a fast start, scoring five of the game's first six goals, but could not hold on down the stretch as Marywood University (2-0) recorded a 12-8 victory Saturday afternoon.

Will Oconis netted a hat trick for the Blazers while five other players registered single tallies. Blake Rust, Jason Anderson, Jesse Jones, Dominique Shorter and Alex Tkacz all found the back of the net for Hood.

Sam Hofmann played the entire contest between the pipes and recorded 10 saves.

The Blazers return to action Monday hosting Washington & Lee University at 4 p.m.
