HARRISBURG, Pa.--Junior Andy Alger carded an eight-over 80 to pace the Hood College men's golf team at the Messiah College Invitational held at the Blue Ridge Country Club Thursday afternoon.

Alger's score was good for ninth place out of 83 competitors at the 16-team tournament. Classmate Aaron Prescott tied for 29th with a score of 83 while fellow junior Evan Chaney registered a score of 88. Newcomers Tyler Fairley and Connor McKenna finished with scores of 103 and 112, respectively.

The Blazers shot a combined tally of 354, good for 13th out of 16 schools. Muhlenberg won the team title with a score of 314, five strokes better than runner-up and host Messiah College. Muhlenberg's Zachary Oyer won medalist honors with a two-over 74.

Hood wraps up its fall slate Monday at Franklin & Marshall's invitational at 12:30 p.m.
