Dickman Adds Matt Galloway and Erik Thomas to 2012-13 Men's Hoop Roster

FREDERICK, Md.--Hood College men's basketball head coach Tom Dickman has added two more recruits to his 2012-13 roster.

Matt Galloway (pictured right, above), a 6-3, 185-lb. guard from Potomac Falls High School and Erik Thomas (pictured right, below), a 5-11, 167-lb. guard/forward from Bishop McNamara High School, will join the Blazers this fall.

Galloway averaged 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals per game for the Panthers. Potomac Mills won back-to-back Region II championships in 2011 and 2012, advanced to two AA state final fours and captured the state title in 2011. Galloway was named to the all-Dulles district team following his senior year. A national honor society member at Potomac Falls, Galloway also received the academic letter award.

"We are very pleased that Matt will be a Blazer," said Dickman. "He has experienced great success on the high school level and we anticipate that success continuing at Hood. Matt can play multiple positions which will be a great strength for him."

Thomas contributed three points, three assists, three rebounds and two steals per game for the Mustangs. He earned the coaches award as a sophomore and a senior and was named the team's most valuable player his junior year. Thomas graduated cum laude from Bishop McNamara.

"Erik comes to Hood from one of the top high school leagues in the country in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC)," said Dickman. "He is tough, intelligent and can make his teammates better. He is accustomed to playing against great competition every night."

Dickman's recruiting class also includes: guard Wyatt McBee (Southern Garrett), swingman Evan Fritsche (Century), forward Conor McVan (Calvert Hall), forward James Brown (Lancaster Country Day), guards Davon and Devin Hill (Potomac School), guard Luke Jackson (Linganore) and forward Jeremy Veres (Linganore/FCC).
