FREDERICK, Md.--Hood College men's basketball head coach Tom Dickman added two more recruits to his class of 2016.
Conor McVan, a 6-6, 205-lb. forward from Calvert Hall, and James Brown, a 6-5, 195-lb. forward from Lancaster Country Day School, will don the Blazer blue-and-grey this coming season.
McVan (pictured right, above) led the Cardinals in rebounding and blocked shots last season. "We are very pleased that Conor has decided to attend Hood," said Dickman. "Conor is an active, athletic player with good size. He is a product of a very competitive high school program and we feel his best basketball is still ahead of him."
Brown (pictured right, below) averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for the Cougars and finished with 1,170 points in his high school career. Brown was a 2012 all-district pick and earned all-tournament honors for District III. "James has the potential to be a very good college basketball player.," said Dickman. "He is dedicated to becoming stronger and more physical. I believe that his basketball skills will fit in well with our style of play."
McVan and Brown join twin brothers Davon and Devin Hill, who graduated from The Potomac School in 2012, as well as guard Luke Jackson from Linganore and forward Jeremy Veres, another Linganore graduate who transferred to Hood from Frederick Community College, as six of Dickman's recruits for 2012-13.
