Tuscarora's LaQuan Randolph Added to 2009-10 Men's Basketball Roster

FREDERICK, Md.--Head men's basketball coach Tom Dickman announced Monday that guard LaQuan Randolph, 2009 graduate of Tuscarora High School in Frederick, will join the Blazers for the 2009-10 campaign.

Randolph, a 6-1, 173-lb. guard, averaged 11 points and nine rebounds for the Titans last season and is a two-time second team all-Monocacy Valley Athletic League selection. Randolph comes to Hood after leading the Titans to back-to-back conference championships as a junior and senior. He was also named to the Frederick News-Post's second team and was an honorable mention choice by the Frederick Gazette.

Also a stellar student, Randolph was a member of the honor roll at Tuscarora in addition to being named a Maryland scholar-athlete and earning the Kappa Alpha Psi honor award.

"We are very excited to have LaQuan commit to Hood," said Dickman. "He brings a level of athleticism and aggressiveness that we need. He comes from an excellent high school program and he is used to winning."

"LaQuan is a phenomenal athlete," said Tuscarora boys basketball coach Dan Wagner. "He's very explosive and plays with a tremendous amount of energy. He gets off the floor very well and was an absolute pleasure to coach. I hope he does great things for Coach Dickman and the Blazers."

Randolph is the second local product to join the Hood basketball family; Dickman also announced that Brunswick High School's Justin Stone chose Hood last month.
