Blazer Field Hockey Raises Awareness, Funds for Breast Cancer
FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College field hockey team raised a total of $500 for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® at its regular season home finale on Oct. 25 at Thomas Athletic Field.
The Blazers, who wore pink ribbons in their hair and shoelaces on their cleats against St. Vincent College, sold pink t-shirts with a Hood field hockey logo to show their support for breast cancer awareness.
The funds will be donated to Maryland's Susan G. Komen for the Cure® affiliate in Towson. The Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
