WINCHESTER, Va.--The Hood College field hockey team (2-11) defeated the Shenandoah University Hornets 4-1 Monday to end a nine-game losing skid.
After Shenandoah scored the first goal of the contest, the Blazers ripped off four of their own and took a 4-1 lead into the break. Jess Head scored her second goal of the season while Brandy Noel found the back of the cage for her team-leading fifth tally of the fall. Sam Liptrap then registered consecutive scores for the first multi-goal game of her Hood career.
The Blazers close out the docket Saturday hosting St. Vincent College at 1 p.m. at Thomas Athletic Field. Hood will honor seniors Jess Head, Jen Lacy and Crystal Parker before the contest.
