Seahawks Defeat Blazers, 6-0

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.--The Hood College field hockey team (1-11, 0-6 CAC) lost to the St. Mary's College Seahawks (7-6, 5-1 CAC) by a count of 6-0 Saturday in their Capital Athletic Conference finale.

The Seahawks scored three goals in each half and limited the Blazers to three shots on the afternoon. Lacey Kelley, Crystal Parker and Jess Head all fired shots on goal but Emma Lauhoff rejected two of them while Caitlin Cromer made one second-half save.

Emily Smithson scored twice for St. Mary's while Amanda Bramble, Claire Leffler, Sam Locke and Emily Norris chipped in a goal apiece for the hosts.

Jen Lacy tallied 10 saves in the cage, her fifth-straight game with double-figure saves.

The Blazers travel to Shenandoah University Monday for a nonconference tilt at 4 p.m.
