Wesley Downs Field Hockey, 3-0

DOVER, Del.--The Hood College field hockey team (3-6, 0-3 CAC) lost to the Wesley College Wolverines (7-3, 3-2 CAC), 3-0, Saturday afternoon in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

The Blazers managed just three shots on Wesley's stingy defense as the goalkeeping tandem of LeAnne Hyslop and Sarah Johnson combined for the shutout. The Wolverines scored one in the first half and two in the second, including cashing in on a penalty stroke as time expired. Taryn Neeman, Brooke Tadlock and Susan Neylan scored for the Wolverines.

Junior Ashley Saylor made nine saves in the cage for Hood. Classmate Crystal Parker collected two shots while senior Jess Head fired Hood's third shot of the contest.

Wesley outshot Hood 24-3 and was awarded 18 penalty corners.

Hood returns to action Tuesday at nationally-ranked Salisbury University in a CAC game at 5:30 p.m.
