Late Goal Lifts Wilson to Narrow 1-0 Win Over Hood Field Hockey

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.-- The Hood College field hockey team dropped a heart-breaking 1-0 decision to Wilson College Wednesday afternoon in an Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference game in Chambersburg, Pa.

Hood falls to 1-8 overall and 1-2 in the conference, while the Phoenix improve to 5-4 overall and 3-0 in the league.

Wilson's Jennifer Huseman notched the lone goal of the contest with just under four minutes to play in the second half to propel the hosts to the hard-fought victory.

Hood goalie Ashley Saylor made eight saves. Brandy Noel and Christa Lundskow got off shots for the Blazers but were unable to convert. The Phoenix outshot the Blazers 17-2 and held a 15-4 edge on penalty corners.

The Blazers return to action Saturday, Oct. 7, at Gwynedd-Mercy College for a non-conference game at 1 p.m.
