BALTIMORE, Md.--Hood College Equestrian Team riders gave a distinguished performance in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Show held at Goucher College Sunday.

Team captain Jennifer Mehalko won her section of the Open Equitation over Fences Division placing over riders from six other schools. Mehalko followed this performance with a third place finish in her section of the Open Equitation on the Flat adding 11 points to the team's total.

Sophomore Courtney Schuman placed second in her section of the Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter Division while junior Emily Bernstein placed fifth in the next section. As the Designated Rider for the division, Schuman added five points to the Hood Team total. Lizzie Hummel, Walk/Division, and Danielle McFall, Intermediate Division, also rode very well for the Blazers but finished just out of the ribbons.

The equestrian team rides next on Sunday, Nov. 12, at the College of William and Mary IHSA Show in Williamsburg, Va.
