Three Blazers Place at Goucher Western Show
BALTIMORE--Three riders from Hood College placed in their respective classes at the Western Show held at Goucher College Saturday. Freshman Katie Thomas made her intercollegiate debut in the Intermediate Western Horsemanship I. Thomas drew a cooperative mount for the class and out-rode four competitors from other colleges. She won the class and her first blue ribbon in IHSA competition.
Junior Haley Holser-Green, a veteran of intercollegiate competition, took second place in the Intermediate Western Horsemanship II.
Senior Jenna Starr finished third in the Advanced Western Horsemanship.
"The blustery, cold weather made showing a challenge, but all of Hood's Western riders rode very well and deserve congratulations on their success," co-head coach Lisa Mitchell said. "Also, many thanks to team captain Jennifer Mehalko, who does not ride Western but came to the show to help warm up horses for their classes."
