ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Hood College's 12-0 start is generating national attention. The Blazers received votes in the American Baseball Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Baseball Poll for the first time in school history.
Hood received seven points in the voting, one of three Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth teams to appear on ballots. Arcadia tallied 24 points and is the closest to entering the top 30 rankings out of the three programs. Alvernia was the recipient of two points.
UMass-Boston is No. 1 in the rankings after receiving 467 points, including 11 first-place votes. Also receiving first-place votes were No. 2 Trinity (Texas) (3), fourth-ranked Wooster (1) and No. 6 Wisconsin-Whitewater (1). Rowan is ranked third and Washington & Jefferson is No. 5.
Hood takes on Western Connecticut State on Tuesday, March 13.
