Hood College Baseball Announces Incoming Class

FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College baseball coach Cory Beddick has announced the Blazers' incoming recruiting class.

The group of 17 incoming freshman consists of 11 position players, two pitchers and four players who can contribute in both areas.

"The Hood College baseball coaching staff is extremely excited to announce our group of incoming freshmen baseball players," said Coach Beddick. "The characteristic that jumps out to me about this group is that they are winners. These talented ballplayers have been successful at the high school level, which for several of them includes state championships on top of countless individual accolades.

"We are looking forward to their immediate contribution to our baseball program on the field and within our campus community. We know these student-athletes will be represent our program and college in a first-class manner. We are anxious to add these individuals to an already extremely talented roster and expect to have a successful 2016-17 campaign."

The group joins a program that won 16 games in its second year of existence. Beddick was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Coach of the Year after guiding the Blazers to seven league wins, more than double the previous year.
