SAAC to Collect Canned Goods at Two Basketball Doubleheaders


FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable items at two basketball doubleheaders in December at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School.

The items collected by SAAC at the Capital Athletic Conference doubleheaders on Dec. 1 and Dec. 6 will be donated to the Heartly House, an organization dedicated to serving victims of domestic violence, rape/sexual assault and child abuse in Frederick County. This is the first conference-wide SAAC community service project of the year.

On Saturday, Dec. 1, the Hood women host the University of Mary Washington at 2 p.m. followed by the men's contest at 4 p.m. The on Wednesday, Dec. 6, the Blazers take on Gallaudet University at 6 and 8 p.m. Admission to the games is $5 for adults and $2 for students 17 and under. Hood College students and staff are free with a school ID.
